Gallery Exhibition
Opening Reception: Friday, Sept. 20, 5 - 7 p.m.
"Charlottesville is a town that is filled with creative people and many of these people share their creativity through teaching the next generation. PVCC is celebrating “artists who teach” in our first exhibition of the year - Those Who Teach Can: Practicing artists who teach in Charlottesville City Schools and PVCC's Art Department.
The art educators in Charlottesville City Schools and at PVCC spend their days focused on guiding the creative spirit in their students, whether they’re in Kindergarten or in college. Days are spent explaining techniques, practicing skills and inspiring young artists to find their own voice. But did you know that most art teachers are artists themselves? Have you ever wondered how their own creativity informs their teaching? This exhibition will highlight the incredible talent that lies behind all that teaching. The artwork and media is as varied as the teachers themselves."
– Fenella Belle, Chairperson of Visual and Performing Arts
