Panther Fitness Center
The Panther Fitness Center provides students, staff and faculty members with a safe and fun environment to establish and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Consisting of two rooms in the Main Building, the Center is inclusive to all styles of exercise. Room M179 is a cardio/multifunctional space, where members can perform everything from running, cycling, rowing to boxing. Room M180 is the weight-training center, consisting primarily of free weights, half squat racks and pulley cable machines. The fitness center is open to all students, staff and faculty of PVCC.
Fitness Center Hours
- Monday - Thursday: 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Friday: 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Spring Break Hours (March 9th - March 13th)
- Monday - Thursday: 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Friday: 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Important Fitness Center Information
- All participants must complete and sign an assumption of risk form prior to the first workout in the Fitness Center. The assumption of risk forms can be found on the welcome table in front of the Fitness Center or in the office of the Fitness Center.
- We are unable to store your any large backpacks and extra clothing in the Fitness Center while you work out. Please leave bulky belongings in your car or please store in a locker. Lockers are located in the rest rooms nearest to the Fitness Center.

Exercise equipment includes:
- Treadmills
- Smith Machines
- Half racks
- Free weights - dumbbells (5 to 100 lbs.)
- Elliptical cross trainers
- Row machine
- Spinning bikes
- Stairmasters
Recreational and Outdoor Sports
Sports such as basketball, tennis, kickball, and volleyball are organized through the Coordinator of Student Activities and Campus Engagement. If interested in starting a recreational team, please reach out to the Coordinator of Student Activities and Campus Engagement. Students interested in rugby are encouraged to contact the Virginia Rugby Football Club.
PVCC has a basketball court, four tennis courts including a practice wall, a multipurpose athletic field and a cross-country trail for hiking and jogging around the scenic campus. The College also has a disc golf course. The course is located at the Main Campus starting near the East Patio and ends near the North side entrance.

Information about team sports activities is posted on the Student Activity bulletin boards in the Bolick Student Center and outside the Fitness Room, room M179, in the Main Building.
