Academic Advising and Admissions:

Current Students (you took spring or summer 2020 courses at PVCC):

  • To plan and register for fall classes: Completed the Fall Class Registration Day Survey. You will be contacted through a follow up email to schedule a time to meet with an advisor.

  • For other issues, such as a prerequisite override into a course, complete our Ask-an-Advisor Form. Be as specific as possible. We want to help you but we need to know exactly what you need!

Class of 2020 High School Graduates:

  • Complete our Ask-an-Advisor Form. Be as specific as possible. You will be contacted through email by an Admissions and Advising staff member as soon as possible.

New Students or Returning Students (graduated high school in 2019 or before):

  • Complete our Fall Class Registration Day Survey. Be as specific as possible. You will be contacted through a follow up email to schedule a time to meet with an advisor.

Dual Credit (students taking college courses while still in high school or home school):

  • Complete our Ask-an-Advisor Form. Be as specific as possible. If you know the exact course(s) you want to enroll in, please include that detail in the form so that we can more quickly assist you. You will be contacted through email by an Admissions and Advising staff member as soon as possible.

Financial Aid:

Students can continue to contact the Financial Aid Help Center by phone, 434.961.6545.
Questions that cannot be answered by the call center will be escalated to PVCC Financial Aid Office staff.

Student Success Office:

Students who are already working with a Student Success Advisor can email them directly to set up an appointment or set up a phone appointment or video appointment via Zoom with an advisor through Navigate:

Step 4: Follow the instructions on the screen

Academic Support Services:
Meet LIVE with PVCC academic coaches and tutors!

  • Academic coaches help students succeed in all academic settings, including online learning environments.
  • The First Quadrant Math Center tutors assist students in mathematics as well as business, science, and technology courses.
  • The Writing Center offers writing assistance in any discipline and help in Spanish and humanities and social science courses.
  • Academic coaches and tutors are available Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Friday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Students may make appointments in Navigate or email tutoring@pvcc.edu for assistance.

Rooms to Zoom:

Students who need to participate in a scheduled Zoom session may use a library study room to access their class. Six rooms are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. starting Monday, August 24: Rm 721, A; Rm. 723, B; Rm. 725, C; Rm. 729, D; Rm. 705, E; and Rm. 727, F. Only one student may use a room at a time.

Check in at the front desk of the library is required; rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be reserved ahead of time.

Canvas and IT Support Services: 
Information about Canvas and other online learning tools can be found here.
The Academic Computing Lab and IT Help Desk (Room 832, Main Building) will be open, Monday – Thursday 8:30 a.m. – 7 p.m.

  3. Online order and ship (shipping charges apply. Financial aid will pay for "ground" or regular shipping only, for eligible students)
