Student Government Association
Purpose
The Student Government Association (hereafter referred to as SGA) engages students in the planning and implementing of educational and social events for the campus community. It functions as the student-led programming branch of the Office of Student Life, funded by student activities fees as determined by the Vice President for Student Affairs. SGA offers a variety of programs that promote academic, social, and vocational growth, fostering a more cohesive campus community and a stronger sense of belonging.

About SGA
President/Executive Director (APPLY TODAY)
The President/Executive Director represents the interests of the student body and acts as a liaison between the Student Government Association (SGA) and students, faculty, and staff. This role involves appointing committees and committee chairs as needed, as well as assigning students to college-wide standing committees. The President/Executive Director also oversees the planning, coordination, and implementation of SGA activities.
Vice President/Director of Major Events (APPLY TODAY)
The Vice President/Director of Major Events is responsible for planning and executing SGA college-wide events, such as the Spring Carnival. In the absence or removal of the President, the Vice President assumes presidential duties and oversees SGA committees.
Vice President/Director of Community Engagement (APPLY TODAY)
The Vice President/Director of Community Engagement is tasked with planning and implementing SGA’s community engagement events, like college-wide service projects. This officer also serves in place of the Vice President/Director of Major Events when necessary.
Vice President/Director of Finance (APPLY TODAY)
The Vice President/Director of Finance manages the SGA budget, ensuring accurate record-keeping, compliance with college policies, and transparency. This role includes evaluating funding requests and recommending allocations that benefit the student body. The Director of Finance also prepares and distributes monthly financial reports to advisors, executive officers, council members, and other stakeholders.
Vice President/Director of Marketing & Communications (APPLY TODAY)
The Vice President/Director of Marketing & Communications oversees SGA’s marketing and communication efforts, which include managing social media, web design, information tables, and non-traditional advertising methods. This officer coordinates the design of SGA promotional materials with the Coordinator of Student Life and the Director of Marketing & Media Relations and collaborates with the Director of Major Events and the Director of Community Engagement to promote SGA events.
