Dual Enrollment
Dual Enrollment lets you earn college credit while still in high school. If you’re a high school student who wants to take dual enrollment classes at your high school, follow the steps below to get started!
- Step 1: Check if You Qualify
- You must be a junior or senior at a participating high school.
- Exceptional freshmen and sophomores may be approved with special permission from your school system, parents, and the PVCC President. Talk to your school counselor for details.
- You must meet PVCC’s Dual Enrollment Admissions and Eligibility Requirements.

- Monticello High School

- Western Albemarle High School

Private High Schools Offering PVCC Dual Enrollment
- Fork Union Military Academy
- The Miller School
- Step 2: Get Permission
- Get approval from your parents or guardians.
- Get approval from your high school counselor or principal.
- Make sure you meet any prerequisites for the courses you want to take.
- Step 3: Apply for Admission
- Complete the PVCC application online.
- Use your personal email address (not your school email).
- Select your high school as your college partner when asked.
- Step 4: Register for Classes

Get a head start on college with PVCC’s Early College Program! Earn your associate degree or general education certificate while in high school—and save money doing it.- Step 5: For Graduating Seniors
If you plan to take PVCC classes after high school graduation, attend a special advising session for recent graduates. Email Admissions for details or help registering.
