You can afford college

G3: Get a skill. Get a job. Get ahead.

The G3 initiative is designed to change lives! With G3, PVCC offers a variety of programs that “stack” to in-G3 official logo demand degrees and prepare students for high-demand jobs. Through the program, eligible students pursuing jobs in high-demand fields can have tuition, fees and books fully covered.

Participants in G3: have access to the same first-rate education always available at PVCC; get a step closer to earning a degree or certificate; and get a jump on changing the game with a job or career...at little or no cost.

We understand that time and money are two major factors to consider when exploring training for a new career. The G3 option makes community college possible (for those who financially qualify) on a timeline that works for you.

Who is Eligible

Any Virginia resident who:

  • Qualifies for in-state tuition
  • Has a total household income of less than or equal to 400% of the Federal Poverty Level (rough income of $100,000 for family of four/$50,000 for an individual)
  • Is enrolled for a minimum of six credit hours or in an eligible workforce training program
  • Is enrolled in a designated G3 program

Programs

PVCC offers a variety of in-demand program certificates, degrees and workforce training to prepare students for jobs in high-demand fields. G3 students can select from a list of approved programs in the following areas: Healthcare, Information Technology, Manufacturing and Skilled Trades, Early Childhood Education, and Public Safety. Identify the career you want and get started today!

Most programs have three levels that build on each other. After each level, you earn a certification that can lead to a job. This means you can take breaks between training without losing progress along the way to an associate degree.
