Institutional Research, Planning and Institutional Effectiveness

The Office of Institutional Research, Planning, and Institutional Effectiveness supports data-driven decision making in administrative, academic, and support services; promotes a culture of assessment; facilitates strategic and annual planning within and across organizational teams and provides leadership for accreditation-related activities.

Our mission is to contribute data, information, and analysis to PVCC's culture of inquiry and evidence in support of learning assessment, decision-making, strategic planning, continuous improvement, and mandatory reporting.

Institution Planning coordinates the development and implementation of PVCC's strategic and operational plans; recommends strategic responses to influencing environmental factors; and makes recommendations on policy issues.
PVCC's Institutional Effectiveness Framework integrates strategic and annual planning and budgeting, evaluation and assessment and use of resulting institutional knowledge for decision making and continuous improvement of programs and services.
Piedmont Virginia Community College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate degrees and certificates. More information about this accrediting body can be found on SACSCOC's website.
