OFF-CAMPUS

GETTING STARTED INFORMATION SESSIONS | Held Year-Round at Various Locations
PVCC offers free Getting Started Information Sessions at locations around Charlottesville and the nearby counties of Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa and Nelson. Sessions are held several times each month and feature information about PVCC programs of study, financial aid, placement testing and more.

ON-CAMPUS

SOAR (Student Orientation, Advising and Registration) | May - August 2019
SOAR is a special advising and registration session for new students beginning at PVCC during the fall semester. During this session, students receive assistance registering for classes and an introduction to PVCC resources and services.

Attending a SOAR session is required for 2019 high school and home school graduates and non-graduates who are first time college students with an interest in pursuing a degree or certificate beginning with the fall 2019 semester. All other degree-seeking students new to PVCC are encouraged to attend. Before registering for a SOAR session, prospective students must apply to PVCC and take math and English placement tests. Advanced registration is required. Contact PVCC’s Admissions & Advising Center at 434.961.6581 to register.  

SOAR sessions are held in the V. Earl Dickinson Building from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. More information about SOAR is available at www.pvcc.edu/soar.

SUPER FAFSA SATURDAYS: GET HELP FILLING OUT YOUR FAFSA FOR THE 2018-19 ACADEMIC YEAR
PVCC offers free workshops on how to fill out your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Workshops are open to everyone–even those not attending PVCC. Make sure to bring you and/or your parent(s) 2016 tax information. No appointment necessary.

All workshops will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 noon in the PVCC Main Building, room M154. For more information, contact the Financial Aid Office by emailing finaid@pvcc.edu. Check back for upcoming workshop dates.
