Academic Support Services employs academic coaches, receptionists, and tutors in the First Quadrant Math Center and the Writing Center. It also hires peer mentors and Structured Learning Assistance (SLA) facilitators.
Coaches help students access resources, manage priorities, prepare for exams and set goals. Receptionists staff front desk in the Writing Center or the First Quadrant Math Center, or both. Greet and assist students as needed, complete administrative tasks, and assist with special projects. Supplemental Instruction (SI) Facilitators
SI facilitators provide regularly scheduled, peer-assisted study sessions for difficult courses in anatomy & physiology, economics, mathematics, and natural sciences. SI Facilitator Application. Tutors typically specialize in a few subjects, and they help students who are struggling with concepts or processes or who want to strengthen their knowledge in a particular subject.
