PVCC tutoring and learning will help you succeed.

PVCC encourages students to take responsibility for their own learning, and it helps them become more confident, capable learners. Its academic support services help students obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed in their programs of study. Academic Coaching

Academic coaching facilitates goal attainment. With the assstance of experienced coaches, students explore their strengths; sharpern their knowledge, skills, and abilities; and implement strategies to manage priorities, access resources, and achieve their desired outcomes. Tutoring

The First Quadrant Math Center provides tutoring in mathematics as well as many business, science, and technology courses. Visit The First Quadrant Math Center (M253 Main Building) or call 434.961.5284 to meet with a tutor. Appointments and walk-ins welcomed. MORE

Smarthinking

Online tutoring is available 24/7 in a variety of subjects including business, career writing, compters and technolgies, mathematics and statistics, nursing and allied health, reading, science, Spanish, and writing. Students may access Smarthinking through Blackboard. Click supported subjects for a complete list of subjects supported by Smarthinking.

StudentLingo

Students may access 14 student success workshops 24/7. Click here to access StudentLIngo, create a free account, and complete the online workshop from any computer with an Internet connection. 

Supplemental Instruction

Supplemental Instruction (SI) consists of regularly scheduled, group study sessions facilitated by SI Leaders who have completed the course (or a similar course). SI targets difficult courses in anatomy & physiology, economics, mathematics, and natural sciences. Research suggest that Supplemental Instruction is an effective means for improving student success in these courses. You may attend SI at any point in the semester, but you are encouraged to attend SI as often as you can.
