Returning to PVCC

Welcome back! If you are a returning student, follow the steps below based on how long it has been since your last PVCC class.

Which Steps Apply to You?

If you have taken classes with us before, we would like for you to stay connected and keep making progress. Students who do not enroll in any courses for three years (or nine terms) after their last class may have their status inactivated. For example, if your last course was in spring of 2022, you must enroll in another course before summer 2025.

  • If you have not taken classes in the past 3 years (9 terms): Start at Step 1
  • If you have taken classes in the past 3 years (9 terms): Start at Step 3

If you ever have questions or need help re-enrolling, we are here to support you!

Step 1: Explore Your Options and Confirm Your Program of Study

PVCC offers a variety of academic programs, including:

Step 2: Apply for Admission

Apply Now!

Identity Verification: All new credit applicants must verify their identity to help maintain a secure learning environment. You will need:

  • A computer or mobile device with a camera (for a real-time photo, known as a Liveness Check)
  • A valid photo ID (e.g., driver's license, passport, or state-issued ID)
Step 3: Apply for Financial Aid

PVCC makes it easy to apply for financial aid, including grants and scholarships:

  • Complete the FAFSA or VASA application
  • No separate scholarship application is required — the Financial Aid Office will match you with available awards

Step 4: Register for Classes

Review your program/major requirements.

Need help registering for classes? Meet with an academic advisor to:

  • Confirm your program/major
  • Review previous coursework
  • Plan your class schedule
  • Discuss transfer credits

How to schedule an appointment:

  1. Log into MyPVCC
  2. Click the Navigate Student tile
  3. Select Appointments
  4. Choose Schedule an Appointment and select your advisor

Tip: Bring unofficial transcripts from any colleges you have attended since your last time at PVCC — especially if you completed college-level courses. This helps your advisor evaluate transfer credits and plan your schedule more effectively

  • Locally developed exams assessed by PVCC faculty
  • Military training (e.g., Joint Services Transcript)

Step 6: Pay Your Tuition

PVCC offers flexible options to help you pay:

  • Financial aid and scholarships
  • Payment plans

Important: Your class enrollment is not confirmed until payment is received by the posted deadline. If your financial aid covers your tuition/fees, no further action is needed. If only partially covered, you must pay the remaining balance to keep your spot.
