  • MTH 9 - Bundle 6-9 - Exponents, Factoring, Poly Equations, Rational Expressions and ¿
Includes performing operations on exponential expressions and polynomials, factoring polynomials, solving polynomial equations, simplifying rational algebraic expressions, solving rational algebraic equations, simplifying radical expressions, using rational exponents, solving radical equations, working with functions in different forms: ordered pair, graph, and equation form. Also introduces quadratic functions, their properties and their graphs. Emphasis should be on learning all the different factoring methods, and solving application problems using polynomial, rational and radical equations. Credit is not applicable toward graduation. Lecture 4 hour per week. 4 credit. Prerequisite(s): MTE 1-5 or qualifying placement score.
  • MTH 167 - PreCalculus with Trigonometry
"Presents topics in power, polynomial, rational, exponential, and logarithmic functions, systems of equations, trigonometry, and trigonometric applications, including Law of Sines and Cosines, and an introduction to conics. Credit will not be awarded for both MTH 167: Precalculus with Trigonometry and MTH 161/MTH 162: Precalculus I and II or equivalent. Lecture 5 hours. Total 5 hours per week. Prerequisite: Competency in MTE 1-9 as demonstrated through placement or unit completion or equivalent, or corequisite: MCR 7: Learning Support for Precalculus w/ Trigonometry, or SAT test score of 530 or better, or ACT test score of 22 or better 5 credits"
