Senior Citizens

If you are 60 or older and meet the eligibility requirements below, you may qualify for a tuition waiver for credit classes at PVCC.
Eligibility
- To qualify for the tuition waiver, you must:
- Be 60 or older.
- Have been in Virginia for at least one year (not the same as residency).
- Have earned $23,850 or less in the past taxable year (if taking a class for credit).
- Pay for books, lab fees, and other course materials not covered by the waiver.
Enrollment Information
- Fee-paying students are admitted first. Senior citizens are enrolled on a space-available basis after the late-add deadline.
- You may take up to three audited courses per semester under the waiver.
- You may also choose to pay to guarantee your seat, but once the semester begins, you cannot switch to fee-waiver status.
How to Enroll
- Step 1: Apply to PVCC
Complete the Application for Admission
- Step 2: Submit the Senior Citizen Tuition Waiver Form
- Step 3: Provide Proof of Age
Return your Senior Citizen Tuition Waiver Form and proof of age to the Advising Center.
- Step 4: Wait for Confirmation
You’ll receive an email after the late-add deadline once your enrollment is approved.
Please note: You will receive access to your student portal and Canvas after you are officially enrolled (following the late-add deadline).
