PVCC4U - New Tuition Assistance Program
PVCC4U is a new tuition assistance program designed to help students pursue their education. PVCC4U covers the full cost of tuition and fees for students with income of $65,000 or less through a combination of state and federal grants, institutional and private scholarships, and work study funds.
PVCC4U provides one hundred percent of the cost of tuition and fees for full-time, in-state students who:
- Have an Adjusted Gross Income of $65,000 or less
- Are enrolled in 12 credit hours or more for the fall 2020 semester
- Have completed or will complete the '20-'21 Free Application for Federal Student Aid, the financial aid process, and are deemed eligible for financial aid
- Have not already received a bachelor’s degree or higher
Tuition and fees will be covered in the spring 2021 semester for in-state students who:
- Have completed 75% of fall credits at PVCC
- Have a minimum 2.0 GPA
- Register for a minimum of 12 hours in the spring

How do I apply?
Interested students must complete the 2020-2021 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and complete the full financial aid process. The PVCC Financial Aid Office will determine a student’s eligibility to receive funding. If a student is eligible, the Financial Aid Office will apply the award automatically to the student’s account.
How will I know if I am approved for PVCC4U?
Once you have completed all the steps required, The PVCC Financial Aid and Foundation Scholarship Offices will send letters of award notification.
Is there a minimum GPA required for PVCC4U?
Yes. Students must be meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements for the fall 2020 semester. To continue receiving PVCC4U funding for spring 2021, students must have a GPA of 2.0 and successfully complete 75% of fall credits attempted.
What happens if I withdraw from or fail a course after receiving PVCC4U funds?
Students must maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA to receive and maintain eligibility. To be eligible for funding in the Spring 2021 semester, students must successfully complete 75% of fall credits attempted.
Are dual enrollment high school students eligible for PVCC4U assistance?
No. Dual enrolled high school students are not eligible to receive financial aid. However, students who graduate and enroll in regular programs may be eligible for the PVCC4U.
How long does assistance from PVCC4U last?
Eligible students may receive funds during the Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 semesters.
Are out-of-state or international students eligible for PVCC4U?
PVCC4U tuition assistance is limited to students who are residents of Virginia and eligible to receive Federal Student Aid.
