PVCC Nursing Program Expansion
In partnership with the University of Virginia Medical Center and philanthropic support from an anonymous donor, PVCC has expanded its associate degree nursing program adding another 50 students each year. This expansion is helping to meet the growing need for nursing in Central Virginia.
Currently, the associate degree nursing program accepts 100 students each fall in August. This expansion will allow an additional 50 students to be accepted each spring in January. The current program graduates students in May. The expansion will afford the opportunity to graduate students in December providing a constant flow of qualified nurses throughout the year.
The new cohort of 50 students will begin their courses at PVCC’s Giuseppe Center in Greene County. The facility has two nursing skills labs that match those at PVCC’s main campus. Two additional full-time faculty will be hired.
Apply Today; Classes Begin January 10.
PVCC is now accepting applications for a new cohort of 50 students with classes beginning January 10, 2022. Financial assistance is available to qualified students. Applications are accepted through the Health and Life Sciences Application Portal. Hardcopy applications and applications received outside of the portal will not be considered for admission. Applying to other health sciences programs has no impact on an applicant’s qualifications for this program. Applications for previous years are not valid for current or future application years. Sign in to the Health and Life Sciences Application Portal to begin your application.
Students must meet eligibility requirements. If there are more qualified applicants than there are available positions in the cohort, applicants will be ranked according to specific criteria and admitted or deferred according to that rank.
