Program Information
Gain foundational skills for machining, including the study of metals, processes, related equipment and tools of industry. Topics include shop safety practices, measurement for precision machining and interpreting drawings.
Upon completion, students are eligible to sit for the Measurement, Materials and Safety credential exam offered by the National Institute of Metalworking Skills (NIMS).
Note: This credential program is the first in a series of six industry credentials for entry-level machining professionals.
