Program Information
Prepare for a career in the rapidly growing field of fiber optics technology. The new Fiber Optics Installer program offers comprehensive hands-on training in the installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic networks. Gain a full understanding of fiber optic infrastructure and master essential skills including installing, maintaining and repairing cutting-edge fiber optic cables and equipment.
The course covers the fundamentals of fiber and transmission theory, cable and connector types, splicing techniques and installation best practices. Students will acquire skills that are in high demand across telecommunications, internet service providers, cable TV companies and data centers.
Program Start Dates
The first program offerings start in November 2024, with two options:
Choose from 19 weekly sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., from November 12 to January 16, 2025, or nine sessions on Saturdays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., from December 14 to February 8, 2025.

Students can earn the following credentials and certificates with successful completion of the course:
- Electronics Technicians Association (ETA) Fiber Optic Installer Certification
- Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI) Continuing Education Credits
- Light Brigade Digital Credentialing
