PVCC received a $210,344 CCAMPIS grant (Child Care Access Means Parents in Schools) from the U.S. Department of Education. The four-year grant will help to subsidize the cost of child care for low-income parents enrolled at the College.

PVCC opens Eugene Giuseppe Center in Greene County. Named in honor of Eugene Giuseppe, principal of the Greene County Primary School for many years. The center occupies 14,000 square feet on the second floor of the Greene County Library building and is home to classrooms, labs, a community meeting room and other facilities.

PVCC and Piedmont Family YMCA announce agreement in which the YMCA will provide discounted full-time preschool care and after-hours child care for PVCC employees and students.

Enrollment of students in credit classes was the highest of any fall semester in PVCC's history. 5,684 students had enrolled in credit classes, representing a 28 percent increase in five years.

The achievement comes as PVCC graduates 81 nurses - its largest nursing class on record for the College and a 42 percent increase in nursing graduates compared to 2006.
