PVCC is holding auditions for actors, singers, storytellers and sound effects.

Do you have a knack for storytelling, a flair for comedy or a voice that can sing the stars down from the Blue Ridge Mountains? Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) invites you to audition for “A Piedmont Home Companion,” our very own take on the classic radio variety show!

About the Show
Inspired by the wit and charm of Garrison Keillor's “A Prairie Home Companion,” the production will weave together original sketches, heartfelt stories, toe-tapping music and a touch of hometown humor. Set against the backdrop of the beloved Piedmont community, the show will celebrate small-town life, quirky characters and the simple joys of being here, now, together.

Audition Details:
•    When: February 18 and 19, 6-8 p.m.
•    Where: V. Earl Dickinson Building Main Stage Theatre

What to Prepare

  • Actors. Prepare a 1-2 minute comedic or dramatic monologue (original pieces welcome!).
  • Singers/Musicians. Prepare a short musical selection (acoustic instruments preferred, and original songs are a plus).
  • Storytellers. Bring a brief story (2-3 minutes) that captures the heart of life in Piedmont—true or tall tales equally welcome.
  • Sound Effects Enthusiasts. Come ready to demonstrate your creativity with props or vocal sound effects.

Additional Information:
The Fine Arts and Performance team is looking for a diverse cast of all ages, backgrounds, and talents. Whether you are a seasoned performer or a newcomer to the stage, we want to hear your voice! Rehearsals will be determined based on schedules. Performances are scheduled for May 2 and 3. Please contact Brad Stoller with questions about performance times.
