Bank of America Names Network2Work@PVCC as its Charlottesville 2025 Neighborhood Builder

Charlottesville, VA – Bank of America has named Network2Work at Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) as its 2025 Neighborhood Builder® for its work connecting job-seekers with the training and resources they need to secure family-sustaining employment, aligning with local industry needs.

Bank of America’s signature Neighborhood Builders program continues to be one of the nation’s largest philanthropic investments into nonprofit leadership development, while providing unique multiyear flexible grant funding annually to high-impact nonprofits in communities nationwide.

As a Neighborhood Builder, Network2Work@PVCC is awarded a $50,000 grant over two years, leadership training for the executive director and an emerging leader and the opportunity to connect with nonprofits in a peer network. Since the program’s inception, 7 nonprofits have been selected as Neighborhood Builders in Charlottesville, with the bank investing more than $350 thousand in philanthropic capital through this program into these nonprofits.

“Our local nonprofits are crucial to addressing the challenges faced in Charlottesville," said Carolyn Rainey, President, Bank of America Charlottesville. “Through flexible funding and comprehensive leadership training, the Neighborhood Builders program helps nonprofits address critical needs and promote economic opportunity for the individuals and families in our communities.”

Network2Work @PVCC addresses employment disparities by connecting local jobseekers with area organizations paying at least $45,000 a year for career-focused roles. The organization also provides funding for childcare, transportation, and other needs to ensure participants can focus on their work. Network2Work will use the Neighborhood Builder grant in its goal of helping over 400 families out of poverty in 2026.

“To be selected for this grant is such an incredible honor,” said Harry Stillerman, Executive Director of Piedmont Virginia Community College Educational Foundation. “With this grant, Network2Work@PVCC will provide employment resources and further the long-term careers of the program’s patrons. For this, we are so proud to be a part of a positive community movement and appreciate Bank of America’s continued support for our educational and employment efforts.”

Neighborhood Builders is part of the bank’s longstanding efforts to build thriving communities by addressing issues fundamental to economic opportunity. Since 2004, Bank of America’s Neighborhood Builders program has invested more than $346 million in communities across the U.S. and trained more than 4,000 leaders at nearly 2,000 U.S. nonprofits.
