PVCC Fine Arts and Performance Lineup Hosts One Mic Stand Installments with Ty Cooper
Charlottesville, Va. – January 28, 2025 – The Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) Fine Arts and Performance Division will hold the next two installments of its “One Mic Stand” spoken word open mic series Thursday, February 13, and Thursday, April 10, each night at 7 p.m., in the Maxwell Black Box Theatre. One Mic Stand is part of the Spring 2025 Fine Arts and Performance lineup, and admission is free and open to the public.
Host Ty Cooper (filmmaker, promoter and “United Nations of Comedy Tour” founder) orchestrates the sharing of stories, satire, poetry, comedy and other spoken word works in a welcoming environment. Those who are interested in performing may sign up at the PVCC Box Office starting at 6 p.m., the day of the event. No experience is required to participate.
The Maxwell Black Box Theatre and PVCC Box Office are in the V. Earl Dickinson Building, on the PVCC main campus in Charlottesville, at the south end of College Drive. Free parking is available in front of the building.
