PVCC to Welcome Contemporary Dance Artist Katie Wells with her Love Letters to Humanity Program

Charlottesville, Va. – October 18, 2024 – Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) continues its 2024-45 Fine Arts and Performance season with a one-woman show that combines dance improvisation, theatre, comedy and audience interaction. Katie Wells will bring her “Love Letters to Humanity” program to the Main Stage Theatre Wednesday, October 23, at 7:30 p.m. General admission is free and no tickets are required.
Katie Wells, MFA, is a contemporary dance artist and teacher in what she calls Conscious Dance Theatre: an art form that merges dance and theatre to spur inner growth and authentic expression. She is an experienced performer and director, with her solo performances having been presented internationally and with multiple symphony orchestras and musicians. A goal of her work is to unite people by revealing hidden commonalities.
Wells’s performance has been organized by the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and is funded, in part, by the Paul Mellon Endowment and the Jean Stafford Camp Memorial Fund. Media support provided by CBS19.
The Main Stage Theatre is in the V. Earl Dickinson Building at the south end of 501 College Drive. Ample free parking is located just outside the building.
