Piedmont Virginia Community College Announces Judy Linden Memorial Nursing Scholarship
Charlottesville, Va. – December 20, 2022 – Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) is proud to announce a new nursing scholarship in memory of Judy Linden. The scholarship, established by the Duddleson family, will be awarded annually to PVCC students enrolled in the associate degree in nursing program.
PVCC Vice President of Institutional Advancement and Development Harry Stillerman stated, “We are extremely proud to be able to partner with Judy’s family in this special way to both honor her dedication to the field of nursing and support future students in achieving their educational and career goals.”
Linden worked as a neonatal nurse and lactation consultant at Martha Jefferson Hospital from 1995 until her death in 2012. In a statement, family members shared, “Judy loved living in the Charlottesville area and working at Martha Jefferson. Judy’s family, friends and colleagues will always remember her reassuring, steady presence; her humor; her zest for life; her strength; and her love for her family, farm and horses. As a graduate of a community college nursing program, Judy recognized the need for affordable, high-quality nursing education and training. By creating the Judy Linden Memorial Nursing Scholarship at PVCC, we hope to honor Judy’s life and the profession she loved so much.”
