PVCC to Hold Virtual Pinning Ceremony for Nursing Program Graduating Class of 2020

Charlottesville, Va. – May 14, 2020Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) will hold its nursing program pinning ceremony for the graduating class of 2020 via Zoom and YouTube live stream on Thursday, May 14, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. The ceremony can be viewed at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2HKWiqMIl6fXAkKLIqF4mw/.

Graduating with an Associate of Applied Science degree in nursing, sixty-seven students will receive their pins and accept the nurses pledge, signaling their significant accomplishments and readiness to begin careers in the health care field. The PVCC nursing program is ranked as one of the best in Virginia (Nursing Schools Almanac 2020 rankings) and is designed to prepare graduates to be contributing members of the health care team, providing direct patient care as beginning practitioners of professional nursing in structured care settings.

Associate Dean of Nursing Louise Schwabenbauer shared, “No one knows what it’s like to get through nursing school except those who have done it. Graduating and receiving the pin means you have endured and prevailed through many challenges. Our nursing program graduates are ready and well prepared to enter a profession with a rich history and an exciting future. We salute them and hope they will wear their pins with pride. We are excited to see how they put their skills to practice in the community.”
