Upcoming pharmacy tech information sessions

PVCC is hosting a series of free information sessions this summer for the Pharmacy Technician Program. The program prepares students to work in various pharmacy settings under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. Composed of classroom, simulation and hands-on experiences, it prepares students to perform well on the certification exam in addition to successfully entering the pharmacy technician profession.

The current salary for pharmacy technicians in Central Virginia ranges from $13 to $22 an hour, and economic projections estimate a 27 percent growth in this field over the next decade.

Information sessions will be held this and next month with Krystal Green, Pharmacy Technician Program Director. The information sessions will take place at the Keats Health Sciences Building, room 107, on PVCC’s main campus in Charlottesville. Session dates and times are listed below:

•    Tuesday, July 23 at 3 p.m.
•    Tuesday, July 30 at 3 p.m.
•    Wednesday, July 31 at 3 p.m.
•    Tuesday, August 6 at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

This program is made possible by generous support from University of Virginia Health System. To learn more about the program, please visit https://www.pvcc.edu/programs/pharmacy-technician.
