Connie Jorgensen, assistant professor of political science, has been named Faculty of the Month for September by students in PVCC’s Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society. The initiative recognizes those faculty members who go above and beyond in their service to the PVCC community.
Why she was selected:
“Professor Jorgensen is a force to be reckoned with. Her strong presence and in depth knowledge of all things political make her classes electrifying. Not only does she push you to be the best in all that you do, she also helps you to find the courage and self-confidence to truly run after your goals. Taking her classes opened my mind to the world of politics and helped me to realize that my true passion lies in helping others find their own paths, as she has done for me. Professor Jorgensen is incredible, and always puts her students first. Her passion for political awareness and civic involvement are truly an asset for PVCC,” said one PTK member.
PTK is an international honor society for two-year colleges. PVCC's PTK chapter performs community service through participation in toy and food drives, charity walks, assistance to local and national victims of natural disasters, landscape maintenance of PVCC's campus and many other service initiatives.
