Prizewinning floral designer leads flower arranging class at PVCC this fall

Flower Arranging

Piedmont Virginia Community College will offer a three-session flower arranging class with Tasha Tobin, creative director of Hedge Fine Blooms in Charlottesville. The class, “Flower Arranging for Your Home,” will be held on Tuesdays, from 6 to 9 p.m., Sept. 27, Oct. 4, and Oct. 11, in the Stultz Center at PVCC’s Main Campus at 501 College Drive in Charlottesville.

Through the use of fresh flowers and professional supplies, students will learn basic tips and techniques for making arrangements including selecting a proper container, where to place the arrangement at home, and how to care for cut flowers.

Tobin is an international flower show judge, award winning exhibitor, and one of six Americans chosen to present at the prestigious flower show of the World Association of Flower Arrangers.  For more than 25 years, she has practiced floristry with designers from around the world.

The cost of the class is $199. An additional fee of $125 for flowers and materials will be collected at the first class. For more information, contact the PVCC Division of Workforce Services at 434.961.5354 or email workforce@pvcc.edu. To register visit, www.pvcc.edu/workforceservices.
