Register Now for College4Kids Summer Career Academies

Charlottesville, Va. – Registration is open now for Piedmont Virginia Community College's College4Kids Summer Career Academies for rising 3rd to 9th-grade students. The academies are scheduled for June 16 through Aug. 15 and provide a variety of hands-on learning experiences in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) and the arts.

The academies were developed to inspire young students to pursue careers in STEM and the arts by offering hands-on career learning and exposure to a college campus. The week-long academies include classroom studies, group projects, experiments and completion of final projects.

Academies are offered in more than 15 career areas including architecture, chemistry, computer science, engineering, fashion design, environmental sciences, forensics, photography, graphic design, robotics, acting and television production.

Academies are offered for both morning (8:45-11:45 a.m.) and afternoon (12:30-3:30 p.m.) Monday through Friday with a supervised lunch and additional afternoon activities from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Most academies take place on the PVCC campus. Need-based scholarships are available.
