Charlottesville Ballet, "Salute"
Join PVCC and Charlottesville Ballet for a "Salute" to veterans with an afternoon of honor, remembrance, and dance.
This heartfelt tribute concert celebrates the courage and sacrifice of our nation’s veterans. Featuring timeless works and powerful new creations by Charlottesville Ballet’s Resident Choreographer Keith Lee and Co-Founder Sara Clayborne, Salute showcases selections spanning from classical to contemporary, spiritual to jazz and swing. The concert honors American stories and traditions through dynamic choreography.
Highlights include a bold new work by choreographer Ty Cooper Grace, set to an original composition by veteran composer David Brent, featuring electric guitar and fusing classical influences with contemporary sound in a powerful musical tribute. Also returning to the stage is the fan-favorite A Military Fanfare by choreographer Mary Hein, a beloved dance educator and Army Ranger spouse. Set to a rousing medley of anthems from all five military branches, this vibrant piece celebrates service with precision, power, and pride.
Main Stage Theatre, V. Earl Dickinson Building. Free tickets will be handed out at the PVCC Box Office starting two hours before the performance.
