Economic Impact

Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) creates value in myriad ways. The College plays a key role in helping students increase their employability and achieve their individual potential. The Economic Value of PVCC

PVCC influences both the lives of its students and the regional economy. The College supports a variety of industries in its area, serving regional businesses, and benefits society as a whole in Virginia through an expanded economy and improved quality of life. 

A recent study, conducted by Lightcast*, measures the economic impacts created by PVCC on the business community and the benefits the College generates in return for the investments made by its key stakeholder groups—students, taxpayers and society. Using a two-pronged approach that involves an economic analysis and an investment analysis, the study calculates the benefits received by each of these groups.
