Frank Friedman Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning

President Friedman speaking in the Bolick Student CenterAt the end of June 2022, Dr. Frank Friedman will retire as Piedmont Virginia Community College President. There is no better way to thank President Friedman for his years of service and incredible commitment to PVCC than to invest in the very thing he is most passionate about: the success of our students.

To build on Dr. Friedman's remarkable legacy, PVCC has established the Frank Friedman Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning. The new Center will strengthen teaching across the College by connecting faculty with information, resources and best practice ideas that enhance learning. The Center will be a gathering place where faculty and staff share ideas and approaches and work together with colleagues in a collaborative environment to create rich, engaged teaching and learning experiences.

Funding in the amount of $500,000 to $1 million is needed to support the cost of operations of the Center during its first five years. To make the vision for the Center a reality, The PVCC Educational Foundation has provided a matching challenge in the amount of $100,000. All gifts up to that amount will be matched dollar for dollar.
