To supplement family income, contact your local Department of Social Services for SNAP (Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program), medical insurance, and public assistance. Dominion Virginia Power- 1-866-DOM-HELP (1-866-366-4357) – If you are having difficulty paying electric bills call your power company. Call early to find out if you are eligible for payment arrangements or energy assistance funds. This can help prevent electricity from being cut off. Energy assistance is not limited to low-income customers, but anyone facing hardship.
