Outreach researches and develops opportunities to connect with the public to recruit adult prospective students by attending community events, organizing and conducting information sessions and visiting area businesses in Charlottesville, Crozet, Scottsville, Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, and Nelson counties.

Through events and information sessions, Outreach provides an introduction to PVCC’s degree and certificate programs, placement test materials and other information about resources to help students get started at the college. Outreach follows up with prospective student contacts with phone calls and emails to set appointments to come to PVCC to receive a tour of the main campus to see all of the resources available to help them succeed as a student. Outreach encourages prospective students to apply and enroll at the college, and assists with the PVCC application, and with setting appointments with academic and financial aid advisors. Outreach provides engagement opportunities for adult prospective students by organizing on campus events that appeal to adults, including the education and career resource fairs for adult learners, and the PVCC Adult Student Life Club.
