Math Center

The First Quadrant Math Center helps students with their math needs and with tutoring in business, sciences and technologies classes. Students can get one-on-one assistance in the First Quadrant from PVCC faculty and math tutors. More information can be found at the First Quadrant website. 

Writing Center

The Writing Center offers tutoring in writing for any PVCC course. They also house tutoring for foreign languages; this year, they offer language tutoring in Spanish and French. More information can be found at The Writing Center website. 

Library

Instruction
Faculty members may request that a librarian be embedded in their Blackboard course and/or library instruction for their classes. Please use the forms linked below to request these services. You will be prompted to log into iNetin order to complete the form.

Reserves
Faculty members may place books, folders, study guides and videos on reserve for their classes. Reserve items are kept at the circulation desk and may be checked out for use in the library. There is a two-hour time limit on reserve items. The library does not renew or accept hold requests for reserve items. SmarThinking

Smarthinking provides online tutoring in Writing, Math, and many other subjects taught at PVCC. Each semester, PVCC students have access to five hours of online tutoring. Smarthinking is free to PVCC students as its cost is included in the Student Activities Fees. Students can access Smarthinking from the Student Resources section of any Blackboard course. 

Atomic Learning

Atomic Learning provides quick training videos that you can use to learn new software applications or improve your skills in software applications that you are currently using such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Adobe Photoshop. There are hundreds of different software applications to choose from and thousands of training videos. Students can access Atomic Learning from the Blackboard homepage. Instructors can add links to specific videos in their Blackboard courses.
