My credit card information is rejected with a message that it is invalid. What should I do?
Make sure that you entered the expiration year of your credit card in four digits. For example, a credit card that expires in June 2010 is entered as 06/2010. Entering the year in two digits will result in an error message about invalid credit card information. In addition, make sure the city, state and zip code are entered in the address line. Contact the Cashier's Office during regular business hours if you experience errors that cannot be resolved.
How do I pay online?
See the directions for paying online at MyPVCC.
Does PVCC have a payment plan?
Yes. You'll find more details about it here.
If my employer or another party is paying for my tuition, what do I need to do?
Your employer or other party must provide a written letter of authorization to the Cashier's Office prior to or at the time that you register for classes. Authorizations may be hand-delivered to the Cashier's Office, faxed to the attention of the Cashier's Office at 434.961.6554, or mailed to:
PVCC
Cashier's Office
501 College Drive
Charlottesville, VA 22902
The Cashier's Office is located in the Main Building near the North entrance. Please call 434.961.5213 for the hours of operation. Authorizations of payment by your employer must be received at PVCC prior to the tuition payment deadline. Authorization is required for each semester.
I receive financial aid. Do I need to see the Cashier to pay for classes?
If you have received an award letter, and if your financial aid will pay your tuition and fees fully, you do not need to see the Cashier to pay for classes; rather, payment will be processed electronically from your financial aid account by the Student Information System.
What if my financial aid will not cover all of the tuition and fees?
You must pay the difference. All financial aid is credited directly to your account. If your financial aid does not cover all of your tuition and fees, you will be required to pay the difference. Nonpayment will result in classes being dropped. You may pay the balance online or in person. If you have any questions, please contact the Financial Aid Office.
I haven't received my financial aid award letter. What should I do?
You may need to check with the Financial Aid Office, but usually if you haven't received your award letter, you have not yet been awarded financial aid and may need to pay the tuition and fees. If you have any questions, please contact the Financial Aid Office.
What happens if my tuition is not paid by the due date?
You will be dropped from classes that have not been paid. The enrollment cancellation process runs periodically throughout each semester after the initial tuition deadline. During this process, students are dropped from class(es) for non-payment of tuition. Students enrolling after the initial tuition deadline should be prepared to pay tuition at the time of enrollment.
Nonpayment includes:
- Students who are enrolled and have unpaid balances on their account for the term.
- Students who expect to qualify for financial aid but their application has not been approved and the anticipated financial aid award has not been posted to their student account.
- Students whose tuition will be paid by a third party but the third party organization has not submitted an authorization to the cashier's office to allow charges.
