Great Expectations in conjunction with The Federal Financial Aid Advocacy Fund will to conduct focus groups for current and potential students who have experienced foster care. The objective of the focus group is to inform and educate current and future students who have experienced foster care in the Great Expectations program about financial aid opportunities, with focus on the FAFSA, student accountability, and combining the use of federal and state financial aid options to maximize student access and success in higher education.

PVCC Dickerson Theater Hidden Figures recounts the story of three brilliant African-American women at NASA -- Katherine Johnson (Taraji P. Henson), Dorothy Vaughn (Octavia Spencer) and Mary Jackson (Janelle Monáe) -- who served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in history: the launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit, a stunning achievement that restored the nation's confidence, turned around the Space Race, and galvanized the world.

C-SPAN Cities Tour - Producer Visits PVCC

C-SPAN Cities Tour producer Ashley Hill will be on PVCC's main campus for a presentation to students and faculty. Hill will discuss the Cities Tour, C-SPAN, politics and the media, and careers in journalism, as well as give a behind-the-scenes look at what it's like to travel the country as a television producer. Hill will also share information about how to navigate C-SPAN’s Video Library, a programming archive that includes 200,000 hours of programming dating from 1987, and how to utilize the C-SPAN Video Library to generate clips. There will be a Q&A immediately following the presentation.
