Child-Care Services at the YMCA Intergenerational Learning Center

Child-care services for children of PVCC students and employees is available through the Piedmont Family YMCA at its Intergenerational Learning Center (YILC) conveniently located in the Jefferson School City Center at 233 Fourth Street NW, Suite Y, in downtown Charlottesville.

Need Child Care While You Attend Classes at PVCC? Apply for a CCAMPIS Child Care Subsidy!

The CCAMPIS (Child Care Access Means Parents In School) grant can help up to 20 qualifying lower-income students with child care costs while fall and spring classes are in session.  The child care services will be provided by the YMCA Child Care at the Jefferson School, 233 Fourth St. NW, in downtown Charlottesville.

Who is Eligible to Apply?    
PVCC students who apply for the subsidy must be:

  • Pell eligible (Complete the online FAFSA to determine if you are Pell eligible)
  • Enrolled in a degree or certificate program at PVCC
  • Enrolled in at least six credit hours
  • In good academic standing (meeting satisfactory academic progress or SAP)

Full-time students and veterans will receive priority. Awards are subject to availability of funds and of age-appropriate slots at the YMCA’s child care programs. The YMCA Child Care at the Jefferson School is licensed to offer full-day licensed child care for children ages six weeks to five years. Part-time options are available for children between the ages of three and five.
