Courses: 

  • HIS 101 - History of Western Civilization I
    Examines the development of western civilization from ancient times to the present. The first semester ends with the seventeenth century. Part I of II. Lecture 3 hours per week.
  • HIS 102 - History of Western Civilization II
    Examines the development of western civilization from ancient times to the present. The second semester continues through modern times. Part II of II. Lecture 3 hours per week.
  • HIS 111 - History of World Civilization I
    Surveys Asian, African, Latin American, and European civilizations from the ancient period to the present. Satisfies JMU transfer history requirement. Part I of II. Lecture 3 hours per week.
  • HUM 201 - Survey of Western Culture I
    Studies thought, values, and arts of Western culture, integrating major developments in art, architecture, literature, music, and philosophy. Covers the following periods: Ancient and Classical, Early Christian and Byzantine, Medieval, and Early Renaissance. Prerequisite Completed ENG 5. Lecture 3 hours per week.
