JABA serves senior citizens in Region Ten Planning District with a variety of services that support elders remaining in their homes and staying active and productive. JABA's mission is to "promote, establish and preserve sustainable communities for health aging that benefit individuals and families of all ages." JABA is committed in intergenerational volunteering to meet community needs. JABA's FISH (Friends In Schools Helping) Program matches volunteers of all ages as tutors and mentors with elementary students who have been identified as "academically at-risk" in our public schools.

Through a special partnership, PVCC students, faculty, and staff can be FISH volunteers at Cale Elementary School. Training is provided and volunteering happens once a week for an hour at a time convenient with your schedule. Additional volunteer opportunities are also available throughout our community through JABA's Volunteer Services office. (434.817.5245).
