Career Studies Certificate

Purpose: The PVCC Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program prepares graduates to provide advanced pre-hospital care as a Paramedic under structured guidelines in emergency situations. Graduates will have the knowledge and skills necessary to function as entry-level paramedics.

Admission Requirements: Complete the online Paramedic Program application by May 15. Qualified applicants will be considered for admission through August 12. Go to www.pvcc.edu/paramedic. Click on "Apply/Register" to get started.

RN to Paramedic Bridge Students:

RN to Paramedic Admission Information Booklet

  • Current RN Licensure in the state of Virginia with 2 years of recent experience
  • Current VA EMT-Basic certification or higher
  • Current Healthcare Provider CPR card.
  • Completion of 2 semesters of Anatomy and Physiology equivalent to BIO 141/142
  • Active volunteer status with an EMS agency (may be modified for significant past experience)

  • Current NREMT-I certification
  • Current Healthcare Provider CPR card
  • Completion of 2 semesters of Anatomy and Physiology equivalent to BIO 141/142
  • Active volunteer or career status with an EMS agency
