EMS - Paramedic
Career Studies Certificate
Purpose: The PVCC Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program prepares graduates to provide advanced pre-hospital care as a Paramedic under structured guidelines in emergency situations. Graduates will have the knowledge and skills necessary to function as entry-level paramedics.
Admission Requirements: Complete the online Paramedic Program application by May 15. Go to www.pvcc.edu/paramedic. Click on "Apply/Register" to get started.
RN to PARAMEDIC BRIDGE students:
RN to Paramedic Information Booklet
- Current RN Licensure in the state of Virginia with 2 years of recent experience
- Current VA EMT-Basic certification or higher
- Current Healthcare Provider CPR card.
- Completion of 2 semesters of Anatomy and Physiology equivalent to BIO 141/142
- Active volunteer status with an EMS agency (may be modified for significant past experience)
INTERMEDIATE TO PARAMEDIC BRIDGE students:
Intermediate to Paramedic Information Booklet
- Current NREMT-I certification
- Current Healthcare Provider CPR card
- Completion of 2 semesters of Anatomy and Physiology equivalent to BIO 141/142
- Active volunteer or career status with an EMS agency
