SPA 101 Beginning Spanish III (4 cr, F/Sp)

Introduces understanding, speaking, reading, and writing skills, and emphasizes basic Spanish sentence structure.

Lecture 4 hours per week. Includes an additional hour of oral lab practice per week.

SPA 102 Beginning Spanish III (4 cr, F/Sp/Su)

Introduces understanding, speaking, reading, and writing skills, and emphasizes basic Spanish sentence structure.

Lecture 4 hours per week. Includes an additional hour of oral lab practice per week.

SPA 103 Basic Spoken Spanish I (3 cr, IR)

Teaches oral communication and introduces cultural mores and customs to students with no prior instruction in the language.

Lecture 3 hours per week.

SPA 104 Basic Spoken Spanish II (3 cr, IR)

Teaches oral communication and introduces cultural mores and customs to students with no prior instruction in the language.

Lecture 3 hours per week.

SPA 150 Spanish for Law Enforcement (3 cr, IR)

Introduces Spanish to those in the criminal justice field. Emphasizes oral communication and practical firsthand police and justice vocabulary. May include oral drill and practices.

SPA 163 Spanish for Health Professionals I (3 cr, IR)

Introduces Spanish to those in the health sciences field. Emphasizes oral communication and practical medical vocabulary. May include oral drill and practices.

Lecture 3 hours per week.

SPA 164 Spanish for Health Professionals II (3 cr, IR)

Introduces Spanish to those in the health sciences field. Emphasizes oral communication and practical medical vocabulary. May include oral drill and practices.

SPA 201 Intermediate Spanish I (3 cr, F/Sp)

Continues to develop understanding, speaking, reading, and writing skills.

Lecture 3 hours per week.
Prerequisite: SPA 102 or equivalent is the prerequisite for SPA 201.

SPA 202 Intermediate Spanish II (3 cr, Sp/Su)

Continues to develop understanding, speaking, reading, and writing skills.

Lecture 3 hours per week.
Prerequisite: SPA 102 or equivalent is the prerequisite for SPA 201. SPA 201 is the prerequisite for SPA 202.

SPA 211 Intermediate Spanish Conversation I (3 cr, IR)

Continues to develop fluency through emphasis on idioms and other complex sentence structures.

Lecture 3 hours per week.
Prerequisite: SPA 202 or equivalent is the prerequisite for SPA 211.

SPA 212 Intermediate Spanish Conversation II (3 cr, IR)

Continues to develop fluency through emphasis on idioms and other complex sentence structures.

Lecture 3 hours per week.
Prerequisite: SPA 202 or equivalent is the prerequisite for SPA 211. SPA 211 is the prerequisite for SPA 212.
