HRI 195 Introduction to Wine Class (1 cr, IR)

The goal of this course is to provide a rudimentary understanding of wine principles, varietals, and quality.  By the end of the course, students should have the ability to recognize the different attributes of good wine, appreciate the different styles inherent in wine, and, above all, enjoy wine.

HRI 295 Advanced Wine Tasting Class (1 cr, IR)

The goal of this course is to provide an in-depth study of red wines from around the world. Focus is placed on the primary red wine grape varietals and gaining an understanding of how the major growing areas of the world create different wines from them. By the end of the course, students will be able to appreciate how diverse the scope of flavors can be from each grape varietal, and have a stronger grasp of the signature flavors from the major white wine growing areas of the world.
