CHM 101 General Chemistry I (4 cr, F)
Emphasizes experimental and theoretical aspects of inorganic, organic, and biological chemistry. Discusses general chemistry concepts as they apply to issues within our society and environment. Designed for science technology, applied science and non-science majors.

Prerequisites: BSK 9 and all developmental English courses or equivalent, or instructor permission, is a prerequisite for CHM 101. CHM 101 is a prerequisite for CHM 102.

CHM 260 Introductory Biochemistry (3 cr, Sp)
Explores fundamentals of biological chemistry including study of macromolecules, metabolic pathways, and biochemical genetics.

Prerequisite: CHM 112 or division approval.
CHM 261 Introductory Biochemistry Lab (1 cr, Sp)
Provides hands on lab experiences designed to reinforce the fundamentals of biological chemistry taught in CHM 260 such as biochemistry assays, enzyme kinetics, enzyme purification, chromatography, electrophoresis and use of wester blots.
Laboratory 3 hours per week. 1 credit
Prerequisite: CHM112 or division approval.
