Practical Nursing
Certificate
Purpose: This one-year certificate program is designed to prepare graduates to take the National Council Licensing Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN) to become a licensed practical nurse (LPN).
Occupational Objectives: A graduate of this program after successfully completing the NCLEX-PN will be qualified to care for patients in doctors' offices, home health-care agencies, assisted living facilities and nursing homes.
Admission Requirements: In addition to admission to the College, there are specific admission requirements for this program.

Curriculum
TEAS testing dates (contact the Learning Center at 434.961.5320 to schedule a time)
- 8 a.m. and noon beginning 9/12 (Monday through Friday - max 6 students per session)
- 9 a.m. on the following Saturdays (9/17, 9/24 and October 1 - max 6 students per session)
* You must first apply to PVCC before completing the Practical Nursing Program Online Application
Information Sessions will be held in M229 (Auditorium) on the following dates:
- September 20 4-5 p.m.
- September 28 noon-1 p.m.
