The Oratorio Society of Virginia
Requiem by Johannes Brahms

$30 reserved seating, $20 general seating, $10 senior/students.
Directed by L. Thomas Vining, The Oratorio Society is acclaimed as the area's only community choral group performing major works with a full orchestra.

Tuesday, March 16, 7:30 p.m.
Richmond Ballet
$20 adults, $15 seniors/students. Reserved seating.
The State Ballet of Virginia will perform Misa Criolla, a choreographic interpretation of the renowned choral work by Ariel Ramirez which expresses the profession of our inner faith and the triumph of the human spirit; Argentine choreographer Mauricio Wainrot's Voyages (2008), which blends world music and contemporary ballet; and Violin (2006) by Val Caniparoli, which represents neoclassicism at its best.

The Richmond Ballet on Tour is made possible through the generous support of Dominion Resources and special funding by the U.S. Congress for the National Endowment for the Arts and the Virginia Commission for the Arts, with additional support from the Virginia General Assembly. Additional support generously provided by The Charlottesville Newsplex, The Watterson Foundation and The J&E Berkley Foundation.

This class is taught by Malcolm Burn, artistic associate and ballet master for the Richmond Ballet. The class is open to dance students with at least one year of training in ballet.

Sing for the Cure

The Richmond Men's Chorus and The Richmond Women's Chorus will combine to present their spring concert Sing for the Cure, an original song cycle commissioned by The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation as part of MINDS WIDE OPEN: Virginia Celebrates Women in the Arts.

PVCC Theatre presents "CLUE The Musical"

Based on the popular board game CLUE, this rousing, fun-filled musical brings the world's best-known mystery suspects to life on the stage, and invites the audience to play along to solve a mystery.

The Municipal Band of Charlottesville kicks off its 88th season with a spring concert at PVCC. Light classics, Broadway show tunes and band repertoire standards are on the program for this musical tradition, which always concludes with a John Philip Sousa march.

Audiences of all ages will enjoy the repertoire of this annual event including Shubert's MASS IN G and a tribute to the 50th anniversary of "The Sound of Music." The concert is a gift from the College to music lovers in Central Virginia.

PVCC Spring Dance Concert
All tickets $5. General seating.
PVCC's dance program presents a concert of original works developed by students and faculty throughout the year. The program will be a mixture of class work, student choreography and faculty collaborations. An audience discussion follows the performance. Seating in the Maxwell Theatre (Black Box) is limited. No late seating.

Annual Student Show and 7th Annual Chocolate Chow Down
The annual exhibit of works by Piedmont Virginia Community College art students opens with a reception affectionately referred to as the 7th Annual Chocolate Chowdown (despite its first appearance at PVCC in 2005) and always features decadent amounts of chocolate for all in attendance.

John McCutcheon

John McCutcheon, folk music's renaissance man, master instrumentalist, powerful singer-songwriter, storyteller, activist and author comes to PVCC to showcase his infinite vocal and lyric variety.
