Official Mission Statement of PEC

Piedmont Engineering Club promotes the engineering profession at PVCC and strives to better the quality of education students receive. By bringing in guest speakers and lecturers from businesses and universities, PEC gives a wider view of the profession and the real applications of engineering. Through these activities, it is the goal of the officers of the club to help students understand the field and see real possibilities for exciting careers. By sponsoring social activities and projects, the club brings PVCC engineering students together to learn and share their college experience.

To find more information on our club, please read our mission statement and our bylaws. Also, check out the officers page, which includes info on our Advisor as well as the current officers.

There are many possibilities for quality engineering activities, such as speakers, workshops and projects. PEC sponsors learning activities that are interesting and fun as well as social activities.

The club works closely with the faculty to facilitate coordinating and planning activities specifically for engineering students. PEC supports and communicates the work of the PVCC Transfer Counselor in order that students can learn about other engineering schools. PEC also advocates constant improvement of the engineering program at PVCC by providing to the staff a unified opinion on the quality of related courses, curricula, and teachers. PEC also researches and presents information about scholarship opportunities.

PEC is a run by students, with assistance from the Club Advisor. This means all members are active in running and coordinating the events. Teamwork and leadership are essential and are emphasized in PEC. Being a member of PEC will help students build excellent skills for the future.

We hope you will join the club and enjoy sharing your engineering experience with fellow students here at PVCC.
