C-SPAN Cities Tour producer Ashley Hill will be on campus for a presentation to students and faculty on Tuesday, March 21, from 2 to 3 p.m. in the Main Building auditorium, room M229.
Hill will discuss the Cities Tour, C-SPAN, politics and the media, and careers in journalism, as well as give a behind-the-scenes look at what it's like to travel the country as a television producer. Hill will also share information about how to navigate C-SPAN’s Video Library, a programming archive that includes 200,000 hours of programming dating from 1987, and how to utilize the C-SPAN Video Library to generate clips. There will be a Q&A immediately following the presentation.
The presentation is part of the 2017 Cities Tour stop in Charlottesville March 18-24.
Working with the Comcast cable local affiliate, C-SPAN Cities Tour will visit literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders will be interviewed. The Charlottesville segment will air the weekend of April 15-16 on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on Book TV on C-SPAN2.
For additional information about the presentation, please contact Ashley Hill, C-SPAN producer/community relations representative (on-site in Charlottesville) at firstname.lastname@example.org.
