PVCC Educational Foundation Announces New Scholarship

Charlottesville, VA - Piedmont Virginia Community College students interested in horticulture will want to apply for the Arboristry Integrity Scholarship through the PVCC Educational Foundation. The scholarship provides tuition assistance during the 2014-2015 academic year for a current student who is enrolled in PVCC's Associate of Science degree in physical and natural sciences, with preference given to students specializing in horticulture and students enrolled full time in the Career Studies Certificate in horticulture.

The $2,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a qualifying PVCC student who holds a3.0 or higher grade point average. The deadline to apply is March 7. The Arboristry Integrity Scholarship was created by Mike and Ellen Neal, co-owners of Arboristry® Associates, Inc., a local business that provides sustainable tree care. Their sons Jacob, Kenny and Daniel, each received an Associate of Science degree from PVCC, and Jacob Neal was named the top Virginia community college student in 2008. This is the third year that the company has sponsored the PVCC scholarship. The business has a history of contributing to PVCC. Arboristry® Associates, Inc. has also donated tree care to PVCC's campus.
