Music Faculty Present Free Recital Feb. 23

Charlottesville, VA - Members of the Piedmont Virginia Community College music faculty will perform a variety of music ranging from classical to jazz on Sunday, Feb. 23, at 3 p.m. in the Main Stage Theatre in the V. Earl Dickinson Building.

Selections on the program include works by composers Gabriel Fauré, Brahms, Vivaldi and more as well as contemporary pieces including excerpts from the musical West Side Story, Under the Greenwood Tree by Arthur Somervell and jazz selections performed on piano and guitar. The recital will include performances by Kay Bethea (piano), Ruth Ann Bishop (voice and piano), Melody Day (voice), Marco Escobar (violin), Jamal Millner (guitar), Horace Scruggs (piano) and David Wilson (saxophone). Guest artists include Matt Wyatt (percussion), Arnold Popkin (piano) and Gina Tuck (piano).

Admission is free and no tickets are required. The V. Earl Dickinson Building is located at the south end of College Drive.Ample, free, well-lit parking is located in front of the building.
