Charlottesville, VA - The Piedmont Virginia Community College Theatre Department in co-production with Hamner Theatre will present William Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale Feb. 7-9 and 14-16 at 7:30 p.m. and Feb. 10 and 17 at 2:30 p.m. in the Maxwell Theatre (Black Box) in the V. Earl Dickinson Building. General admission tickets are $5.
The Winter's Tale, one of Shakespeare's last plays, is a daring mix of realism and fantasy, tragedy and comedy, tears and laughter. Directed by John Holdren with design by Kerry Moran, the play features PVCC students as well as actors from the larger community. Holdren and Moran have collaborated on many productions in the Charlottesville area including The Importance of Being Earnest and Arcadia.
Tickets are available by calling the PVCC Box Office at 434.961.5376 and charging them to a VISA or MasterCard, or by purchasing them at the PVCC Cashier's Office during normal business hours. Tickets can also be purchased at the PVCC Box Office within two hours before each performance.
There is limited seating in the Maxwell Theatre, and no late seating will be allowed. The V. Earl Dickinson Building is located at the south end of College Drive.
